Self-Confidence & What helps building it.

Image
It is greatly important for parents to work on developing their children's confidence. Two years ago, scientists from the University of Washington came to the conclusion that the self-confidence of the child was built up to 5 years of age. A lot of things cannot change since that age. And it is well known that self-confidence is the key to success in life. And what is self-confidence? Self-confidence is a belief that you can manage your body, behavior, and challenges you face in the world around you. If our children believe in themselves, they take more risks in life, they will more often achieve their goals and achieve great things. The good thing is that self-confidence is not something that is gained (or not) born, but it has to work on its development. Parents can help their children develop a better picture of themselves by creating opportunities for them to practice and improve their skills. Allow them to make mistakes, but be there to patronize them to keep trying. The...

Key Reasons Why to read children's accent from the earliest age ?

Image
Why to read children's accent from the earliest age ? Of utmost importance is reading to children of all ages, not just the youngest. The method of reading aloud is very important for developing reading habits and later success in school, as well as for general success in acquiring knowledge, say pedagogues. Reading the accent should be applied when it suits all participants in the act of reading, either in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening. Spontaneous reading can take place in a car, in a doctor's waiting room, on a bus, in a city, in a park, on a trip.   Read the children's accent from birth so they can: Connect reading and books with pleasant feelings hear sounds, rhymes and words to use their sense of hearing, sight and touch create sounds - from swinging to word show the picture, and the person reading to name what the child shows they begin to understand that the images show certain objects from their surroundings And of course, ...

Meeting with the Kindergarten Just Became Easier

Image
Departure to the kindergarten represents not only an important period in the process of child development but also a major change in the functioning of the whole family. Although this event is an integral part of almost every child's life, it can often be stressful, as it requires adapting to new circumstances, both to the child and to the parent. How much a departure to kindergarten is a significant event in the child's life, we will realize if we remember that it represents his first true obligation, similar to what Mom and Dad have when preparing for a job every day or when a brother and a sister go to school. Research shows that the adaptation process is sometimes more stressful for parents (especially mothers) than for a child. Such data are understandable because the kindergarten often means the first long separation, but also the modification of the roles that Mom and Dad had by then, which are now largely taken up by educators. When they talk about parents' st...

How Relocating Influence Your Children

Image
As a most of us are foreigners in Dubai we are all aware of stress and changes moving brought to our lives. Every major change in the family means stress for each member. Whether it's a child's upbringing, a loss of a family member or any other type of major change…. One of the biggest stresses in each family is certainly relocation. If for any reason you are planning to relocate your family to another city or state please make sure to carefully consider few things! 1- Do not overly what you expect from the new residential area and the place you are moving into. Every detail cannot be known, and you have a real image in your head and so teach children. Children should not understand moving as something negative but you need to explain it to them. so conversation is key! It is very important that you listen to them and be careful with their feelings! Tell them it's normal if they feel sad or if they're tense! 2- When preparing a child for relocation...

The Importance of Early Literacy

Image
Literacy is often thought of as reading and writing and therefore not considered important in the early years.  However, literacy is more than just reading and writing ability, it is the ability to read, speak, write and listen. It is never too early to think about literacy with your child!Literacy development begins at birth (emergent literacy) and continues through the preschool years.  It is possible to provide literacy opportunities at home using some of the below suggestions .   During infant and toddler years  It is important to: ·       Talk to children with simple language and frequent eye contact.  We should always respond to their attempts at communicating. ·         Singing, playing and finger-plays (songs like “incy wincy spider”) with infants and toddlers is important to develop their language skills ·         Providing crayons, paint and papers for infants and toddlers to e...

Bed Time Stories

Image
Bed Time Stories As long as I can remember, I have loved to read. As an adult, I still read every single day. I will read everything and anything, and I really enjoy sitting down with a book and a cup of tea, and just relax. It even helps me sleep at night. This love of reading stemmed from my mother. When I was a child every night she would read my brother and I bedtime stories. I looked forward to going to bed and listening to her read the stories each night to me. Her story telling was (and still is) so captivating and exciting, many people have said that she should write stories herself. She made each book seem like it was the most exciting, magical, thrilling story ever. I had a shelf in my room full of teddy bears and dolls and different toys. My mother used these toys as the characters in each story. I particularly loved The Tale of Peter Rabbit and my mother used the rabbits to narrate the story. It was so much fun. I loved my bedtime stories. Why are b...

The Use of Positive Language With Children

Image
THE USE OF POSITIVE LANGUAGE WITH YOUNG CHILDREN For every one of us that has a child in our care whether it is us teachers, parents, nannies or caregivers is important to use positive language with each child rather than negative:  (e.g. “Don’t pick your nose” use “Would you wipe your nose with this tissue”  “Stop running!” use “Can we use our walking feet please”  “That is very bold/naughty” use “That’s not very nice, is it? (explain why the behaviour is not nice) The use of positive language: Will give the children a sense of achieving and doing right rather than feelings of guilt or not being able to do something correctly.  Hence why I think it is important to have a positive touch on everything even when we are speaking to and correcting children. We all know it can get a little frustrating at times but the important thing to remember is to stay as calm and positive. We are all teachers anyone of us who is caring for a ...
