Teaching Your Pre-schooler to Dress Himself:

1)Let Kids Choose
Get your pre-schooler excited about dressing himself by allowing him select his own clothes. Don’t overwhelm him with too many choices.

2)Make a Morning Routine Poster
A morning routine poster can effectively illustrate to a young child what he needs to do to get himself dressed every day.

3)Get up Earlier
Naturally, when kids are learning to dress themselves, they’ll struggle quite a bit. So to prevent chaos, wake up earlier in the mornings to give your pre-schooler plenty of extra time to get ready.

4)Start Simple
When you’re first teaching your young child to dress himself, stick with clothes that are easy for him to put on such as pants with elastic waist bands, and pullover shirts and sweaters.

5)Master the Buttons and Zippers
"Buttons and zippers can be especially challenging for younger pre-schoolers who are just gaining control over their small muscles.

6)Curb Criticism

Learning to get dressed is challenging for children – and being critical of them won’t make the task any easier.
